“L.U.C 1860 Chronomete”
The L.U.C 1860 Chronometer was introduced to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier. While inheriting the spirit of the original L.U.C 1860, launched in 1997, it brings together the technical expertise and advances in finishing that Chopard has cultivated over the past three decades. The case retains the same 36.5 mm diameter as the original model and is crafted from the brand’s proprietary Lucent Steel™. Inspired by the deep blue waters of the Areuse River, the “Abyss Blue” dial features a hand-guilloché pattern engraved on an 18K white gold base. Its refined, date-free layout further enhances the watch’s classic appeal.
It is powered by the in-house L.U.C 96.40-L automatic calibre. While carrying forward the slim architecture inherited from the original movement, it delivers a power reserve of approximately 65 hours thanks to a 22K gold micro-rotor and twin barrels. In addition to COSC chronometer certification, both the movement and the case bear the Geneva Seal, demonstrating a high level of achievement in both precision and finishing. Steel cases awarded the Geneva Seal are rare, making this one of the watch’s most noteworthy features.
