“Royal Oak Flying Tourbillon Openwork”
Taking an imaginative approach to gold alloys and colors, Audemars Piguet presents a new model with a new 18K gold alloy for the case and bracelet. The new 18K gold alloy, named “sand gold” after the sun-dappled sand dunes, is halfway between white gold and pink gold. The sand gold case houses the calibre 2972 automatic movement with flying tourbillon, introduced in 2022, featuring bold openwork to highlight the tourbillon. rhodium-colored, while the openwork bridges, mainplate, and inner bezel are sandoe-gold colored to match the case and bracelet. From both sides of the case, one can admire the multiple color contrasts and the delicate movement of the mechanism.
