Jaquet Droz
“Tourbillon Skeleton Red Gold Bon Jovi”
Jaquet Droe and Jon Bon Jovi collaborated on this watch. The watch has also made a mark by being worn by Bon Jovi himself during his world tour to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the group. While this work is a unique piece, it is also possible for fans to take inspiration from it to create their own watches.
The design of this model does away with the usual dial, making the parts appear to be floating. The movement is held in place by an intricate black PVD-coated linear bridge, the tourbillon at 12 o'clock seems to float in mid-air, and perpendicular to it is a white gold engraving in the shape of two wings spreading out on either side of a dagger. The dagger is propped against a heart engraved with the number 40, a special “40” anniversary for the group. The logo, entirely hand engraved and polished, is an original design that will be used throughout the 40th anniversary tour.
The entire logo is divided into several parts: the two wings, the dagger, the heart, and the numbers “4” and “0” are disjointed for a special finish. Underneath the wings, which are hand-engraved on a solid gold mass, are satin-finished, polished, and grained finishes that flow together naturally. The work appears simple but is combined and completed with great precision.
