“Orbis in Machina”
Roger Dubuis specializes in tourbillon watches. This new work features a flying tourbillon in the center, displaying the seconds, minutes, and hours in concentric circles. The 3D disc of the time display, which has a strong presence, points to the time by means of a sharp, open-worked flying hand with a double-sided finish mounted on ball bearings. This mechanism is the result of a new patent-pending planetary system that is simpler, more compact and sophisticated, creating a lot of space and a look that sets it apart from conventional tourbillons.
The central mono-tourbillon, which is prone to many challenges, is a complication rarely mounted in luxury watches. Roger Dubuis is well known for its tourbillons mounted at the 7 o'clock position, but this piece is one that allows the wearer to enjoy the further evolution of the brand.
