"Les Cabinotiers Le Temps Divan (Sacred Time)
Vacheron Constantin's Les Cabinotiers department, with its diverse range of craftsmen including guillochers, enamelers, engravers and gem-setters, inherits traditional techniques passed down through generations and conveys the tradition of making unique pieces to the present day. The Maison's skilled craftsmen create timepieces in which the mechanism is elevated to a work of art. This year's unique piece, which is based on the theme of mythology and cultural perception of time, is a masterpiece of engraving and guilloching with a motif from Greek mythology. It stands out with the bas-relief carving of the god Chronos holding an hourglass in his hand. The other piece is a divine beast symbolizing the four seasons, evoking the cyclical "time". It was inspired by the murals of the Kitora Tomb in Japan in the 7th century and was expressed by artisans in the form of marquetry. A philosophical and cultural exploration of the concept of time in different cultures and ideological perspectives, the Le Temps Divan (Sacred Time) series invites you on a journey through time, enriched by the mechanisms of time and orchestrated by artistic craftsmanship.
