Networking Evening & Welcoming Mr. Yves Bugmann, FH President

With the inaugural visit to Japan of Mr. Yves Bugmann, who was appointed President of the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry FH in January 2024, more than 70 attendees gathered, including member brands, Japanese watch manufacturers, department stores collaborating with FH exhibitions, watch associations, and other watch-related guests.

Following a welcome address by the Swiss Ambassador to Japan, President Bugmann highlighted the commonalities between Japan and Switzerland. He emphasized the shared commitment to quality and precision in the watch industry, the presence of globally recognized brands, and the many reasons to take pride in both countries’ watchmaking heritage. Furthermore, he reiterated Japan’s significance as a key market for the Swiss watch industry, underscoring the importance of FH Tokyo as proof of this strong connection. He concluded his speech by expressing gratitude for the warm welcome in Tokyo.

During the event, SBHJ, the co-organizer, introduced details about the Swiss Pavilion at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, set to open on April 13, and presented opportunities for business use of the event space.

Bringing together key figures in the watch industry, the gathering provided a warm and friendly atmosphere, fostering networking and exchanges among participants.
