The Swiss Pavilion grand-opened

The Swiss Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, officially opened on April 13, 2025. The pavilion invites visitors on an immersive and interactive journey through collaborative innovation.

Heidi, a beloved character across generations in Japan, has been appointed as the official mascot of the Swiss Pavilion. Under the theme “To the Summit of Technology with Heidi,” the pavilion tells a story that spans from the preservation of traditional Alpine culture, a symbol of Switzerland, to its evolution into a hub of cutting-edge technology and innovation.

The structure of the Swiss Pavilion features lightweight membrane architecture, designed to minimize environmental impact. Inside, four spherical exhibition rooms offer a variety of experiences.

heres 1 and 2 present permanent exhibitions, where visitors can admire Swiss landscapes through paper-cut installations and experience an AI-powered art installation that transforms visions of the future into floating soap bubble-like imagery.In Sphere 3, exhibitions change every two months and focus on three key themes: “Augmented Human,” “Life,” and “Planet.” These showcases highlight Switzerland’s outstanding innovation and creativity.

Finally, in Sphere 4, visitors are guided by Heidi into a space that immerses them in the joy and creativity at the heart of Swiss cultural and technological innovation.
