BREGUET
“Experimental 1”
This timepiece is an exceptionally symbolic creation, born as the first chapter of a new collection spearheaded by Breguet's R&D department. Developed to mark the brand's 250th anniversary, it aims to reinterpret the theme of “precision”—pursued throughout the life of Abraham-Louis Breguet—using modern technology.
Its defining feature is the first-ever Breguet constant-force tourbillon with a magnetic escapement, boasting an ultra-high frequency of 10Hz (72,000 vph). It masterfully combines two major mechanisms patented by Abraham-Louis Breguet with modern magnetic control technology and silicon materials. The shock resistance from the high beat rate and the stable power supply from magnetic force achieve astonishing accuracy of ±1 second over 24 hours, earning the Breguet Seal certification that meets the standards of a “scientific instrument.” It is particularly noteworthy that despite the ultra-high beat rate of 72,000 vph, it simultaneously achieves a power reserve of approximately 72 hours and high magnetic resistance (600 Gauss).
The display adopts a regulator-style layout inspired by the 1820 marine chronometer. Positioning the hour indicator at 6 o'clock, the minute hand at the center, and the tourbillon at 12 o'clock achieves a high-level fusion of mechanical symmetry and readability. The case employs the proprietary Breguet Gold alloy, with the same material extending to the movement's mainplate.
Case: Diameter 43.5mm, thickness 13.3mm (18K Breguet Gold), Water resistant 10 ATM, See-through case back / Movement: Hand-wound Cal. 7250 (37 jewels, 72,000 vph, Power reserve approximately 72 hours) / Limited to 75 pieces worldwide,/ Price: 53,480,000 yen (estimated)
