AUDEMARS PIGUET
“The 150 Heritage” Pocket Watch
To celebrate its 150th anniversary, Audemars Piguet unveiled an ultra-complicated timepiece equipped with 47 functions, including 30 complications. It incorporates a grande sonnerie, petite sonnerie, minute repeater, flying tourbillon, split-seconds flyback chronograph, and a semi-Gregorian perpetual calendar. For enhanced legibility, the calendar indications are displayed through apertures.
On the caseback side, the watch features an independent universal calendar system. Based on the Gregorian calendar, it integrates elements of the solar, lunar, and lunisolar calendars, displaying the year, month, date, week, leap year, moon phase, the spring and autumn equinoxes, the summer and winter solstices, as well as major religious holidays. It is programmed for the years 1900 to 2099, and the calendar information can be adjusted via a bidirectional rotating mechanism on the caseback.
The exterior is entirely hand-engraved, featuring portraits of the founders and the 150th anniversary logo. A sapphire crystal soundboard enhances the acoustic performance of the chiming mechanism. The dial is finished in blue grand feu enamel and adorned with hand-engraved 18K white gold Roman numerals and a starry sky motif.
