"Clifton Baumatic Chinese New Year Edition 40mm"
Baume & Mercier is celebrating the Lunar New Year beginning on February 17 with the release of a special limited-edition model from its Clifton collection, limited to 100 pieces.
The year 2026 marks the Year of the Fire Horse, the seventh sign of the Chinese zodiac. Associated with the sun, the horse symbolizes power, energy, and freedom, all of which are expressed on the dial of this timepiece.
At 6 o’clock, a fan-shaped date aperture displays odd-numbered days in both Arabic numerals and Chinese characters, while even-numbered days reveal horses in different poses. As the date disc rotates quickly, the sequence creates the impression of a galloping horse.
The dark gray dial features a gradient lacquer finish, with all elements rendered in gold tones, producing a striking contrast. Blending the spirit of the Chinese New Year with the creativity and high quality that Baume & Mercier has long upheld, this model is powered by the in-house automatic Baumatic movement. Certified as a COSC chronometer, it offers an impressive power reserve of approximately 120 hours.
